You need to classify between intelligent and unintelligent punk rock lyrics. There’s a lot of people out their that have trouble voicing their thoughts, and music is one way they tackle that problem. I’ve talked to “anti-punk” anarchists that are totally off-the-wall and who’s logic is completely flawed. Some of the most intelligent people I have talked to are anarcho-punks. Don’t be so quick to write ‘em off.

While when it comes to the subject of an educated, intelligent, active, and intrinsically-motivated anarchist movement (or whatever you’d like to call it), the same problem arises out of this posting as does several other postings on this website. There seems to be a large orientation toward ostracizing, marginalizing, minimizing, or otherwise denouncing other people. So, yeah, there are a lot of “punks” out there who sing lyrics about anarchy but have no idea what the philosophy entails. Again, I’d like to assert that these are people already primed to learn, who are already receptive to the ideas but need their train of thought put back on the tracks.

Would the authors on this site please endeavor to be a little less divisive? We often already have enough infighting as it is…

Today, October 23rd, at my high school I was called down for my beliefs.
The Couselor asked me what anarchy was and I showed him an exposition that I
found by Kropotkin, yet, I could only find it in one of his first books.
He read the little segment and said that anarchy was percieved as
“unpatriotic”. Then, using the information and the speech my Emma
Goldman you provided on anarchy.net, I countered. Did I mention that I gave him
the ACTUAL speech from 1908 at San Francisco. He was stumped and as a result, I
recieved a saturday school.

Yet, I do not care. I countered a school official with superior intelect.
Thank you for the information, otherwise, I would’ve been hanging by the
feet. I also send my regard to emma, the queen of chaos

I enjoyed learning more about anarchy and especially about Emma Goldman,that’s why I came here in the first place so I wouldn’t be arrogant of anarchy,and I wish to be an anarchist (if that makes sense).
